Energy Performance Certificate Assessment
Service 01 · Regulatory Compliance

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

Certified EPC assessments under SANS 1544:2014 — mandatory for qualifying commercial and public buildings. We issue A–G rated scorecards based on measured net energy consumption per square metre, enabling direct comparison against SANS 10400-XA:2021 benchmarks.

Compliance is not documentation. It is measured performance. Non-compliance carries penalties of up to R5 million or five years' imprisonment under the National Energy Act.

  • Measured energy consumption (kWh/m²/year)
  • A–G building performance classification
  • EPC scorecard issuance and NBEPR registration
  • Mandatory for buildings ≥2,000m² (private) and ≥1,000m² (public)
  • First step in the pathway to Net Zero

Energy Audits

Every inefficiency has a measurable origin. NegaWatt energy audits identify equipment-level inefficiencies, system losses, and operational variances — delivering energy consumption breakdowns, efficiency ratios, and financial impact analysis.

Three Levels of Audit Precision

Level 01

Walk-Through Audit

Rapid high-level identification of primary inefficiencies and opportunity ranking.

Level 03

Investment-Grade Audit

Financial modelling, ROI projections, and capital investment documentation.

Service 03 · Strategic Optimisation

Energy Management Optimisation

Efficiency is not a once-off intervention. It is a controlled system.

NegaWatt implements structured Energy Management Systems (EnMS) aligned with ISO 50001, incorporating Resource Efficient Cleaner Production (RECP) strategies and continuous performance calibration against established baselines.

  • ISO 50001-aligned Energy Management Systems
  • RECP — Resource Efficient Cleaner Production
  • Continuous performance monitoring and calibration
  • Steam, pumping, compressed air, chiller and motor systems
  • Energy savings quantified in kWh, GJ, Rand, and tCO₂e

Result

Sustained energy performance improvement and cost reduction.
